As far as im aware the mods receive no financial renumeration but theres obviously a few perks that go with the job, I dont think free packages for the Castillo fight are on the list though. I guess that the sites main purpose is to serve as a gateway for accessing relevant information on Ricky Hatton. and to that end im sure it benefits him financially by increasing his profile and and providing links and sources for tickets, merchandise and the like. It also provides a church for Hatton fans and boxing fans in general, a real community and without doubt one of the most hospitable and pleasant places on the web. All the mods that ive met have been lovely fellows and the selection program to become a moderator is long and arduous and comparable to SAS selection. Most of the mods have phd’s and more initials after their names than you could possibly make sense of. Its also rumored that several of them belong to the homosexual community and are regular visitors to Manchesters famous gay village. I cant honestly see the board surviving in its present format to far beyond Ricky’s retirement, however im sure there will be an offshoot some were and we can all be together forever.
We will need to elect an heir/ successor to Ricky either by voting or by Ricky choosing
Then in decades time people will wonder why the Heavyweight Champion of the world is supported by Ricky Hatton forum… it will be our little secret.. ;D
Jimmy G Force - though Saddo is the web master and does all the technical stuff to keep this place running as ‘smoothly’ as it does
nope - they give up their personal time just for your benefit
Does the site generate an income? if so, how?
probably generates something through the advertisements you see around the place - whether this covers the cost of running the site is a differant question…
Who decides who appoints mods… i guess it errm…mods?

hahaha - cheers for the info Ralph, you have satisfied my curiosity
cc mate
So I guess Jimmy created the site? - I’ve recently been going through some ancient posts - the man is a legend
Yeah i would definately stick around. This is one forum where any opinion is welcome and no is put down in a bad way. So much information comes through here which is wicked.
The best thing i like about this place is that everyone can just have a joke and nothing is taken personally on here which is really refreshing. Also the mods do a fantastic job, they’re tough but fair ;D It’s just a great place to come for boxing in general as well as supporting Ricky. I have been to other boxing sites where if you give an opinion where you don’t agree with the people there they just start shouting there mouths of.
So i think in it’s own right this site does a lot for boxing where the sport is debated in a mature and interesting way.
If i could be bothered i would CC everyone because everyone contributes in a positive way on here ;D
I agree, there are some real gems who post on here at times and it’s been several years since i joined.
But alas all fighters retire - for example Naz had a buzzing website but it was pulled after he retired. Some other tribute sites to Naz continued and even went into overdrive in november 2005 when the buzz was he ‘considered coming back’ from retirement.
There are some boxing sites out there which are a bit full-on - full of historians disecting a fight from the 70’s - then there are some which are more accessible to general fight fans. Some are very welcoming…and some aren’t ! ;D
I am personally a member of 7 sites - some are better for rumours, some are better for fight videos, others are full of hilarious nutters and others are plain battlefields for arguments.. it depends which you prefer at the end of the day. But there are plenty to choose from out there.
Dont bother going to pacland its a haven for pac huggers and one loose comment against Pac and your out for life. On here its ok but things like swearing and slagging RH off isn’t tolerated which is fair play. Go to MAB’s and see some of the abuse the pinoys give him its shocking…
