He can’t be a Collazo fan boy though… he’s not well known enough to have fanboys. You can’t pick Collazo from an unbiased veiw point based on records or styles… so why pick Collazo? Reading between the lines I smell a hater…
And prior to that he was fighting 6 rounders, the guy who he won the belt from got it after it was vacated because who ever had it at the time ugraded to WBA super champ… bascially its a fake belt thrown out there so the WBA get more money sanctioning bouts.
Hatton is only going after it because it was an easy title fight to get and win on American soil.
The kid has got to have something if he is taking the fight, right??
He must back himself?
He is a natural at the weight but he does look a wee bit skinny from the weigh in shots and Ricky is looking very relaxed.
The new weight is a variable for Ricky and also Ricky may not find it so easy in Massachusetts to get away with his rough house tactics without Mickey Vann in there turning a blind eye to such matters.
I think these variables have to push me out to a 10 round TKO to the hitman.
Factor in possible cuts, can Collazo take a whack on the chin or floating ribs from the hitman and keep coming on strong? Maybe he’ll feel the power early and fold up like a cardboard box rather than take that kind of in your face punishment for half an hour.
I’m picking Ricky but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a decision if Collazo can fight and shows real heart.
The main reason for him taking this fight is $500,000 he is being paid, the guy’s biggest purse to date is probably less than $20,000, so that is one of the main reasons similar to Carlos Maussa. there main motivation is the cash, this guy is a gate keeper, he aint all that and as Miles has picked up on he has not really foguht anyone and not really experienced anywhere near as good and experienced as Ricky. It will be a god fight for Ricky.
It is not a walk over, Hatton is going to have be very near his best to win this easy-ish… if not, he was in for a very tough nights work.
I take Hatton to be near his best and win a TKO10, but you never know for sure, this is after all boxing, there are very, very few gimmes at the top level of the sport
Some people might get mad but I’m goin with Collazo. Now don’t think that I’m a hater because I’m not I just don’t think hatton is as good as his fans think. If this kid collazo can take his punch he’ll have a good chance in winning. I’ve seen collazo a couple of times and he ain’t bad. I’m picking collazo cause I think hatton gonna have a harder time getting in than you think. This guy is a natural WW, his reach is 72 compared to hattons 65 and hes a southpaw. Those are the ingredients for trouble. If this kid has it mentally this could be a good fight. Collazo UD12
I saw an analyst on TV in Canada say almost the same thing… That Collazo could be a big spoiler with the reach and being a southpaw… Apparently Hatton has struggled with them in the past, plus there’s the weight difference. But Collazo has been TKOEd before by a nobody, in 2002… I don’t know anything about the fight it could mean a whole lot or absolutely nothing.. I guess we’ll see what kind of punch the guy takes.. IF his chin holds up I pick Hatton but in a tough fight going the distance.. Maybe Collazo won’t be able to take Ricky’s punches though, I have no idea.
