The Death of Mike Quarry.

Mike Quarry passed away at age fifty-three of pugilistica dementia in a Los Angeles nursing home; how tragic! His brother died at age fifty-five of the same disorder. They brought class, courage and charisma to boxing. Requiescat in pace, Mike.

fifty-three (sic); i.e., fifty-five.

God Rest their souls. That is far too young to die.

Shame…RIP

HUlk, ditto, I am 64. Very sad.

since both brother died of the same thing might there be a genetic tie in to all of this…they claim it was pugilistica dementia..what are the odds that it happens to BOTH brothers??? on average 5 out of every 10000 people suffer from some form of dementia…that’s only .o5% chance…and both brothers get it …I think genetics played a big part in this…

The odds are exactly the same as it happening to any other two people. The fact they are brothers is not relevant to the odds.

And if it happens to 5 people in every 10,000, as you say, then the odds are 2,000:1 that the first brother gets dementia, and also 2,000:1 that the second brother gets dementia.

I think !!

R.I.P :army:

It seems likely that there was something genetic which made both more susceptible to getting the disease, doesn’t mean that boxing wasn’t the eventual cause.
