I just got back into boxing about 3 weeks ago. Right now, I’m doing a bunch of cardio and trying to get my cordnation back. I am 6’5 and weigh about 295. I want to get down to about 230. Now, should I lift any weights in between now and then or should I just stick with the cardio for now until I get to about that weight? I’ve noticed that since I started back up in boxing, that my arms, shoulders and chest have decreased in size. Let me know what you think.
So should I do cardio one day and weights another or do them both the same day. I was kinda thinking the same thing, but didn’t know if it would be a good idea to lift while i’m trying to lose weight.
i think it would be best to have every training day the same, (eg. roadwork, cardio circuit then weights) at different times in the day. it is also better not just to do light weights but do heavy, building weight training for power training. the secret is VARIETY, say it with me, VARIETY!!!
But get somebody to show you how to do the exercises properly, go to a gym an ask the guy to show you how to do them also try to use free weights and not the machines (use bar/dumb bells)
I actually started lifting weights again the other day. I’m mostly doing stuff for my back, tricepts, and shoulders. Right now, I’m lifting a little more on the lighter side, but I’m doing more reps with them. Thans for your help
