watched the paul smith fight 2night on contender great to see he won but gutted he wasnt able 2 fight on in the tournament due to the cuts gutted for him but he sure did make us brits proud well done smigga.p.s im glad he shut up that pain in the ass banks

I caught the end of the fight yesterday. I was quite shocked at Paul’s physique. To me he looked quite porky and not at all toned.
Didn’t like the format this year with 5 fighters winning the 1st round matches and then only 4 of them getting thro’ to the next round. Even though he was not medically elidgable after the fight, he would not have made it to the semis due to his split decision. This seems crazy you’d expect to win a fight and automatically go thro’ (assuming no injuries).

i know the footage is edited but from what was shown it was hard to see how one of the judges managed to have Banks by 3, looked like Smith was the aggressor for most of the fight.
He seemed to be going for more knock out punches rather than attacking the body. Gutted for him that hes not competing in the contender now.
i think that that is part of the finale to the contender.
Don’t think it’s done him much harm, he didn’t lose, actually better to go out this way then losing in the semis or final.
So now lots more people know him and he’s still undefeated,

I can see why they would introduce the “every round counts” system but it doesnt show who the best fighters are. Someone who is reasonably good could fight someone that is sh!t and get an early KO (like what happened in the first fight) or two decent fighters could go toe to toe and win on a split decision, it doesnt work. I hate the way they edit the rounds aswell it looks like a low budget Rocky film. The build up is poor with Sugar Ray saying the same thing again and again every single week, they should show the full 3 minutes of every round in real time it would be so much better. The whole thing is a bit of a farce because if someone like Bika or Soloman win it we know that they are far from the best in the division and are past their best.
I thought he didnt progress because he only won by split decsion, whereas all the ohter 4 winners won more decisively. I guess it doesnt really matter anyway because he wouldnt of been able to fight with that cut in the Semi’s anyway. Should be a good rematch, I think Smith will stop him late this time.

I signed papers yeah, but the show is almost over. As long as I don’t leak results i can talk. I got on great with Sam and Miguel. They edited it so I looked as if I was bad mouthing Miguel, but I never, I liked him a lot. I also got on with Jaidon… But he wasn’t as arrogant as he is being on camera. Donny was cool, as was Brian and Wayne… Couldn’t understand a word Sakio said, but his heart was in the right place.
I got on with Buddy like a house on fire. He is now my new trainer. Pepe was great too. In fairness there was no one apart from Banks that I didn’t like. Even that was just a personality clash. Maybe one or two floor managers behind the scenes aswell like :
