i had this thing for a while called…uh, shin splints i think was the term. it lasted a few months, had to go see a doctor and everything. the problem was all the roadowrk i had been doing, something to the tune of 6 miles or so on that hard concrete and not to mention the old beat up chuck taylors that certaintly seen prouder days i was running in. my main problem was that i would “work through the pain” which seemed real rocky balboa of me at the time but this kind of mentality eventually messed my ankles up so bad i could not even walk without pain. i learned a very good lesson about training as a result – quality over quanity. anyway the big problem is that when you run you want to make sure youre nice and warmed up first; you need to stretch for a while. next big thing is you want to start off slow to get your legs used to the strain of running. after that just make sure you at least have some good shoes that help to absorb some shock (example: anything but chucks) and you should be set. for the problem you have now: just make sure to ice the area real good and if its very bad take some anti inflamtory pills. all this was straight from the doctors mouth that i went to see.
I recently hurt my ankle in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and decided to go to physio for it so that my boxing and BJJ wouldn’t be put on hold for so long… or forever. And my physiotherapist said that without measures taken after an ankle injury, they rarely heal properly. I had hurt my ankles in the past and never went for any type of treatment. They are now breaking down scar tissue using ultrasound waves, so that I can exercise and strengthen my ankles properly. As a result, I won’t be anymore prone to ankle injuries than the guy who have never hurt them.
May want to get it checked out. I’m not sure where you live, but here in Canada it’s free for me to go to physio. If it’s not free, it’s fairly expensive.
Get some olibas oil rutatox arnica creams; mix them up get a container put the mixture in it; then when needed’ spread on injured area twice a day Inbetween gently stretching should help
doo toe & heel lifts b4 u run and every day …like sand up on your tippy toes ..then back on your heels & lift your front part of your foot and go back and forth …also make sure your knees are bent whne u run ,and run softly …obviously u must be running and being hard on your ankles but if u leave all your joints loose and jog softly ,tahts how people like B-hop run to stay in shape but not ruin there joints
don’t take painkillers then go running ::** you’re masking the injury and it’s not healing. Use a bike, go swimming but remember to work hard to get the benefits from it. Lay off the feet now or you could be out for months.
try taking ibroprufen for a few days, anti inflamitory. could be a trapped nerve or something… describe the pain sal, it is sharp and focused or dull and spread?
im not sure how 2 explain it, its sort of on the outside (left side of left foot) and it feels like a tendon/ligament may be injured, it usually stops hurting after ive been awake for a few hours but when i first get up i can barley stand
na, i was thinkin it would just go away but it doesnt seem that way
i used to tear the fuck outta my ankles on a daily basis, and within 3 days id be fine, i guess theyve just taken a real bad beating, once they loosen up i can do things, its the first 3 hours its almost impossible to walk, its not possible to tear something and have only a few hoyrs of pain a day, is it?
