Much Respect

Just watched the Liakhovich/Brewster fight for the second time and I have to say both fighters earned all of my respect. Anyone who talks down about Brewster after this fight needs to have their head examined. Hands down there isn’t another heavyweight out there right now with more heart than these two and I think they both deserve equal credit. Anyways, if Rahman had half the heart Brewster showed in this fight, he would have knocked an overweight, off-balanced, light-punching Toney into another galaxy. Here’s hoping we hear much more from these two in the future.

I would love to see Liakhovich fight Rahman, maybe that would get Rahman fighting with a little urgency! ;D

There’s no question about Brester’s and Vich’s heart but don’t go talking garbage about Rahman. Rahman beat Toney, who was supposedly the biggest thing in the heavyweights. Toney’s defense is the best out there (lightheavy up to heavy) and Rahman got thru, give him respect.

Actually, no, I WILL talk garbage about Rahman because Rahman WAS the much bigger man (naturally) in that fight and he fought weak. He never really took the fight to Toney, and even though he took Toney’s best shots and they didn’t phase him, he never pressed the action. Look at either one of these guys (Brewster/Liakhovich) neither one felt secure that the other couldn’t hurt them, yet they still pressed the action. THEY realized the fight hinged on getting in there, making a statement, and WINNING. Rahman never had that inclination, and because of that, all he got was a “controversial” draw.

I agree a little. Because if it was Brewster fighting Toney it wouldn’t have been a draw.

TOney would have beat the crap out of Brewster.

Entertaining fight, even though I was pulling for Brewster. Sergei showed some heart. Brewster showed he’s not that smart.

Man that Belarusian can take a shot.

I cant imagine what that feelings like for Brewster…

“Wait a minute, when I hit everyone else like this they went down, WHATS GOING ON!? Oh fwock…”
