I think it could happen their both promoted by Arum, and it would sell preety well PR vs Mexico rivalry. I think Cotto is much bigger and Castillo has lost on TKo’s to cuts, and Cotto has busted up alot of his opponents faces and won on cuts. It would be a great fight and it wont go the distance, I see Cotto winning by tko.
Its going to be a great back and forth battle. JLC has a great chin and I think Cotto’s is good. Which might be the difference in the fight. Neither fighter likes to back down so its going to be to the center of the ring and lets see who falls first. My pick is Castillo by late (T)KO.

castillo has too much heart and is almost a ring veteran
after being in battles with the likes of corrales and seing his power in that match (although he last)
i believe Cotto would be up against too much. Castillo can bang with both hands has a good chin, and a strong mexican fanbase.

I think the reasoning behind the match up is on the presumption that JLC will have been through 3 wars with corrales by then and then be going up in weight. I dont think Castillo will really have a tough time with Corrales the 3rd time around and may be fresher than everyone expects.
everyone has gone really quiet about cotto on this site lately. he needs to do someting to keep us all interested. he has the ability.

Hatton can beat castillo and corrales. It’s just a matter of time before hatton and cotto put hands on each other. I think Cotto is already in the top 5 p4p in the world. I need to see how hatton looks in this next fight to sway my thoughts about him going up against Miguel (smash your shoulder in 10 pieces) Cotto!

cOTTO’S my boy however,he is not in P4P top 10 YET.If he beats Castillo then yeah and he does have a bright bright future ahead of him. He has the power in the body shots to slow Castillo,and as big as JLS is Cotto is that much bigger! Also,people,this fight is definitely taking place,both are promoted by Arum and it will be Cotto’s last fight@140,Castillo’s first and he will probably clean out the division when Cotto moves up.

Cotto does have a chin,he was fighting someone who had KOed 26 of 28 opponents,was severly weight drained and had a busted ear drum and STILL did not go down legitimately,he was pushed and he came back with better shots at the end of the round so his chin is actually quite good. Corely hit him on the temple,Corley also wobbled PBF,does that mean he has a bad chin? Miguel has fought unbeaten power punchers,ex champs and soon unbeaten movers(Malignaggi)He is still young and to date,his resume is very good for his age AND he is fighting JLC@ the end of the year so those criticisms will end…
He has one or 2 weaknesses like going too wide with his hook,allowing himself to be countered and getting a bit square sometimes but that was against Branco and Torres,and I think even he said he learnt his lessons from that.
