I heard a report that the fight is not gonna happen and Delahoya may not fight again this year. Mayweather will fight on Nov 4 and his possible opponents are Margarito which Arum just offered Floyd 8 mil to fight again,Hatton, Mosley vs Vargas winner, Cotto or Baldomir if he gets past Gatti.
this was posted earlier today…out of the lot of them I hope it’s PBF vs Sugar Shane…
i would like mayweather vs. hatton…i like hatton but styles make fights, it would be yet another fight where people would give hatton a shot and when the fight is over they would talk about how floyd always ducks REAL competition cuz he would make hatton look very bad (plus, ricky cuts and floyd would do some serious damage)
it would be like mayweather/gatti…how many people honestly said gatti was going to win with his heart, chin, power, etc. etc.
then the same people turn around and say floyd only fights bums after he has a field day on arturo

De la Hoya is very sharp and thus is probably just waiting for PBF to get an undeniable reputation for greatness which wont be until PBF fights some truly great welterweights.

[/quote]well we agree on something(finally)…Hatton would suffer like Gatti…maybe worse so because of the hype surrounding Hatton…Gatti was beatable and Hatton still has that 0 for now…that would be MOTIVATION!!! I’d pay to see PBF fight a lamppost anyway so whatever fight is next I’m there…

It’s a shame that the fight is not going to happen, Mayweather must be heartbroken (payday, legacy). But he has to stay focused, Margarito should be his next opponent and he is very dangerous but beatable. Floyd should dominate 147 for the next 2-3 years

[/quote]That’s my choice as well. I would have to see Cotto at welterweight to know if he would have a chance. Margarito is tough but Floyd is going to dance circles around him (too slow). As for Baldomir, who really thinks that fight is even worth it?

I really didn’t buy his dispute with Mayorga either. I think that was just pre-fight ticket-selling fluff.
