Lets talk about reflexes

Everyone knows of people such as Roy Jones and Pernell Whitaker, and their ability to see shots coming then go with the flow. Is it something all of us can achieve, or would most of us reach a certain point then have no choice but to not go any further. I’d really like to know if anyone has some information on how to buid up that reflex (aside just practicing during a fight or sparring of course), seeing as the ability to not get hit has helped Roy Jones go throughout his whole career without having any real facial scars. Mucho important to people like myself and drgoodlooking :lickish:

HAND EYE COORDINATION CAN BE INHANCED BUT AS FAR AS REFLEXES GO… YOUR BORN WITH THEM OR NOT… THERE ISNT REALLY ANY SHARPENING…YOU CAN GET FASTER BY SPEED TRAINING BUT ITS HOW FAST U PROCESS INFORMATION MENTALLY… YOU IMPULSES ONLY TRAVEL SO FAST.

To have the reflexes to the point of RJJ or Whitaker is more of a genetic thing. If you could that up every boxer out there would have those reflexes. You can only build up what genetics has given you. The negative of using those reflexes for defense is that over time your reflexes slows (hince RJJ in his last couple of fights). And if you do not have any other significant defense then you lose your defense all together.

So you’re saying I better having some God given talent or else my face isn’t gonna be pretty forever :frowning:

Something like that. ;D

Just remember to keep your hands up high.
