Jai Opetaia Says Boxing Rewards Talk More Than Skill
This has long been a thought of mine, but of course it’s always refreshing when an actual boxer says it. ![]()
Jai is obviously considered by most to be the top dog at cruiser, a division which unfortunately lacks the big names. Surely avoided by many. It could be speculated that at some point Jai could follow the lead of Usyk and move up to heavyweight.
I’m sure detractors of David Benavidez will now point to David and say he’s ducking Opetaia. But it’s still early in the process, and David can’t be blamed if he wants to go after Bivol at 175 first. At some point, Benavidez vs Opetaia might still happen.
What’s laughable is this:
Canelo Alvarez Says David Benavidez Fight Is Now Impossible
It is NOW impossible??
![]()
Dude… it has been “impossible” for YEARS!!
Ever since he first wanted to fight you at 168 pounds!!
Benavidez was Canelo’s mandatory for THREE YEARS at 168.
Even after moving to 175, Benavidez said he would gladly come back down to fight Canelo.
So yes… this post is about Jai Opetaia dissing the talking of fighters. And if there’s a poster child for that, it’s Canelo Alvarez.
I’m hoping against hope that Mbilli kicks his royal DUCKING ass, and sends him into retirement with 2 losses in a row.
