If the judges were conspiring to cheat Winky...

If Winky truely got cheated, how come Taylor didn’t get the win. THe judge who scored the fight a draw could have gave Taylor just one more round to satisfly the Taylor supportive crowd.

Sounds like a conspiracy to me.

I realize nobody is caring about this point, but I think its a good one. If Taylor is such the HBO darling, how come he didn’t get the win?

I mentioned this point earlier
People on this forum are crying over spilt milk, complaining how Winky never won because Taylor is a HBO fighter. Just a desperate attempt to drag him down, when the reality is that the fight was indeed close and a draw was actually a good decision.

Because getting a draw is already a win for him, he keeps his crown and have his pride intact. They just can’t stomach giving him the fight where he was clearly outboxed, cornered and battered.

So what your are saying is that, between the handful of minutes that the fight ended and that they called the scores that: some shifty HBO executive met with the three judges to allign their scores into a draw? Why a draw, why didn't they just give him one more point and he would have won the fight and had a perfect record at the end.

I think Winky was boxing better than Taylor, but by no means did he batter him. It takes a wide imagination to think that either fighter was battered. Taylor easily gave as much has he got.

It wasn’t a conspiracy, it was just a bad decision imo.

If all three judges would have had Winky winning, that would have been bad. I think if you look at the general consensus of this board, half the people either think Taylor won or draw, or that Winky won. Seems like a splint opinion on the topic, which makes the decision look pretty good.

Which is why I put imo

hahaha its just funny
the last couple of big fights
have led to so much points of discussion
its rather nice if ya ask me ;D

He is an HBO fighter & not only do commentators tend to favor them…so do the scores.

DLH was an HBO fighter who had the commentators on his nutts too. Didn’t exactly help him with Tito or the Mosley rematch did it ::**

They gave the 12th to Taylor which ensured a draw!!! ;D

If they hadn’t then Winky would have won a MD as he was ahead on two judges scorecards going into the 12th.

it was a bad decision, i only wish winky could have left no doubt in those senile judges minds by absolutely dominating those last 2 rounds…

i had him winning, but to take the belts you should never leave anything in doubt in the minds of dubious decision makers…

I gave Taylor the 12th and my scorecard had it even as well.

One judge actually gave Winky the 12th. I didn’t deserrve it, but he got it.

F*ck Gary Shaw. He said because of this fight he’s never promoting in Memphis again, as if the fans had anything to do with it. And the judges weren’t even from Memphis. They’re acting like sore losers when they didn’t even lose. He can go to hell.

Everyone has opinions… too say there was a conspiracy with a such a close fight is the opinion of somebody who is off their rocker.

Interesting point starr ^-^ but… Chuck Giampa scored the Mosely and Hernandez fights for Wright, Melvina Lathan scored the Solimon fight for Wright and the other guy gave him this fight so its not like they don’t like his style. ;D

those are less close fights though  And Winky dominated th action better because of the styles he fought

Right. I lost a lot of respect for Winky after he declined the rematch and started making excuses and acting like he was robbed?

I was there at the FedEx Forum and didn’t hear any of the commentary until I saw the replay this morning. I still thought that it could go either way. There was definitely a lot of crowd bias, but what does that have to do with the judges’ decisions? It’s not like they had anything to gain by faulting the scorecards.

Also, a lot of people are using different internet polls to somehow prove that Winky won? BS. Winky’s fan base is incredibly massive in comparison to Jermain’s. Of course they’re going to favor Wink. The only people that really seem to like Jermain are his hometown fans.

Although I went in rooting for JT, I couldn’t bring myself to boo Winky. He’s one of my favorite fighters, and has been for a couple of years now. He’s an obvious legend, but I think he’s starting to fade away. Look at his last fight with Soliman. As sad as it may be, it was quite obvious then that Winky should soon start thinking about another direction in his career.

um.. Winky looked good against Soliman. Soliman threw over 1000 punches and landed an average of single digits every round? thats a defensive masterpiece. Also Winky had the flu, so off on the Soliman fight ;D
