If the two were to meet then i would have to say it would be at 147. In saying that i would think that both would come in slightly under the limit of 147 on weigh-in. Yet come fight night Ricky probs at 150ish, and slightly heavier than Floyd. It’s hard to say what weight he will definately come in at. As we know his last forray at 147 was a rushed affair, and as Ricky has said himself, he would prefer to set up camp in the states alot earlier than he did last time. Also i would think the preparation would be greatly improved and the extra weight he needed would be put on alot more steadily rather than rushed as per Collazo. Dont know about anyone else but i thought the whole training camp for the Collazo fight was somewhat poor in comparison to the KT and fight and even Maussa. Now granted we had Warren trying to scupper things last time out which no doubt would of affected Rick and the camp itself. And added to that Rick was supposed to be fighting Juan Luzcano.
So in essence i think Ricky has just as good a chance against Floyd at 147 as he does at 140, as long as the training camp is planned maticulously and goes ahead uninterrupted.
How do you figure he would weigh about 150 when he came in at 158 for Collazo and was about 154 for Tszyu on fight night? He was even heavier than Collazo by two pounds.
I can understand about Lazcano fighting not coming off, but when they were looking for a fight they were targeting Baldomir first. So they knew from the get go they might be fighting at welterweight.
I don’t get this weight issue about taking time to put on weight. The guy when he is not fighting walks around over the super middleweight division limit (168lbs).
It’s a mute point anyways since these guys will never fight each other.

What i was refering to was the type of weight Ricky would put on. He would need to go on a strict diet and regime to put on the correct amount of muscle and not to much body fat. This type of weight application needs carefull planning, not like what happened in the build up to the Collazo fight. Ricky was originally fighting at Lightwelter-weight. The only that changed that was the fact he was fighting Collazo, and that was the only fight left for him.
Now in saying this i wouldnt have thought Ricky would want to be too big as it could take away his mobility and speed of reflex, which is something he would deffo need if going in against Floyd.
[quote] Funny really considering Ricky has a fight coming up. Starting to smell a little stale around here.

There are a number of big fights coming up before Rick fights Urango. Rick’s fight is a few months away.
I want to see a few more fights where Ricky goes back to his boxing first than to face Mayweather right now.
The KT style he employs now almost got him in trouble with Collazo so he’s going to have to make some serious changes and go back to basics before climbing in the ring with Floyd.
If Rick doesnt start fighting the way he did pre Tszyu hes a loss waiting to happen. I dont know what they were thinking employing his walk straight in style against Maussa and Collazo.
Daft is the wrong word, furthermore it was not an ‘attack’ on you Karlos mate.
The point i was endeavouring to make was that i’m in agreement with Cloughie.
The forum is regurgitating itself and is going a little stale.
The weight issues have been discussed at massive length and especially in the wake of the narrow Collazo win, we all went on about his weight affecting him and how much would he way against Floyd, Cotto etc…
In was discussed in Kerry Kayes threads and in several normal boxing threads.
I think we are all a little starved a Hatton news round here - even some of the regulars are conspicuous by their absence (Jayobox?)
We need more people like Bulldog and Rotherhitman to spice this board up a little with a few tales / pictures to keep us going, until the Urango-buildup begins…
I agree Gomez - I find myself browsing the boards waiting for a new post. I know it can’t be helped, but I can’t help feeling a little frustrated with the long wait till Ricky’s next fight.
The board is stale but were inbetween fights and the forth coming bout is after christmas and not in any way a blockbuster.
I know it wasnt an attack ive asking at what weight Rick would come in at if he fights Floyd as hes most comfortable at 140lbs and any fight with Floyd will be at 147!.
I made the thread because i was bored with whats on the forum of late we need some more Cotto and Mayweather fans over to spice it up a bit as very little seems to be coming from within Team Hatton.
The only news ive had on the fight was seing him on soccer am.
Its a simple question that has of yet not been replyed too.
Rick should avoid him like a bad disease at 147 PBF is becoming more natural with that weight and Rick dont have the discipline at 147 as Ive said before he has to work his B****X of to make 140 and comes in all the better for it, he is big strong and hard as nails at 140 as well as having the ability… the Rick that beat Tszyu could or would have beaten any one @140 that night, that night Rick was awesome but for me PBF @ 147 please nononono sorry just my opinion guys but PBF and Gatti springs to mind not as one sided but hope you get my meaning tho.
Hatton isn’t Gatti. Gatti hits harder but throws less leather. Styles make fights so think of it as a game of rock paper scissors: All else being equal a boxer beats a puncher. A puncher beats a swarmer. A swarmer beats a boxer. Rick’s the best swarmer out there and Floyd is the best boxer, so if nothing else we’ll see an exciting and well contested bout.
