If Message Boards Were Around 20 Yrs Ago, Who Would Have the Most Annoying Fans?

I got a feeling the Tommy Hearns fans would be like the Judah fans, always making excuses why their favorite fighter just got his @ss whipped!

Both Leonard and Hearns

Ray Leonard overrated ass. If anything he has a bunch right now as it is.

Why’s Leonard overrated?

Very true…

Starr I just read your avatar…

Question: Did you really pick Mayorga?

If you did…Then damn!!! you are trying tooooo hard to make these kind of predictions…Where you pick the underdog…The only thats worked has been ERIK-ZAHIR…

Let me guess you picked Rocky over MAB and your also picking Malignaggi over Cotto… ::**

I’d say Leonard fans. He is an all-time great, but he was the crowd favorite that got all the calls and none of the penalties. He did his thing and noone can take that away from him. His fans however were so annoying then, I rooted against Ray. Great fighter that attracted alot of fans that don’t know the sport.

Bullshit, that F****** Gerry Cooney would fill the board with stories about his stupid a** comebacks. At least Hearns and Leonard had talent.

There’s a reason he’s at the bottom of the list.

Yea, the great white hype did have alot of stubborn fans. But, Cooney did put together a nice run. He was never gonna beat Holmes, with his fans in the ring.

Have a CC

No way imo. When Hearns was beat it wasn’t because he didn’t show up, it was because he legitimitely lost the fight being a warrior. Judah, no way you can say the same about him and there excuses are just borderline insane sometimes.

Very well said amat.

:coolclick:

definitely…defending both his losses to Hearns and HAGLER!!! I am glad we didn’t have 'em back then…

Oh Please…Ray Leonard is one of the best boxers of all time.

Mike Tyson, because of his dominance fans would have elevated him to god-like status and would not have listened to a bad word against him.

Also when he got caught doing something wrong you would get the Michael Jackson effect of people who would be unable to admit thatbtheir idol was fallible as Mike turned out to be. (Although not in the ring at first!)

Leonard was good but he wasn’t great. He ducked Aaron Pryor, he ducked the Hearns rematch until he taught Hearns was shot and he ducked Hagler until he saw signs of decline first. When he did fight Hagler he begged for the fight to be 12 rounds not 15. He than runs the whole fight and gets a gift win. He than begs the WBC to have Donny Lalonde put his Light Heavyweight title on the line for there Super Middleweight fight. All so he can win two titles and say he won 6 titles in 6 divisions.

There is soo much proof to support your arguement, tosser.

Yes there is, leva

He’s not overrated. And Hearns moved up in weight didn’t he and how did he duck a Hearns rematch when he retired twice? And he fought one and then retired again, then he came back and first fight back fought Hagler. I did a whole long post about why these fights didn’t happen till 10 years apart but I don’t feel like looking for it :frowning:

Leonard is a great, period. We have had a poll before on this site and Leonard was cleary seen as a great by the majority of members on this website.
