Yup… and I am keeping things together the best way that I can. I got all D’s with one C on my exams. Rules say that I cannot even review if I have more than 2 D’s and I have four others with that one C.
I’m going to review my scripts today. So, in order for me to resit the 1st year I would have to pay $35,000.00. If I had $35k or could raise that easily, I would not be in law school. llolol…
But, I have failed. And it stings a bit, especially when people are noticing that I am not on the publication list and are asking me what happened.
I’m going to try to raise enough for the down payment for the resit at the very least. Will see what the markers say on my exam scripts this morning- and if there is any way I can appeal, I will.
Have to now scrap up the money to go at it again. It is not uncommon for people to fail at the bar the first time. I’m just trying to live through the bit of pain and the growing intense feeling of worthlessness… I’m trying my hardest to beat back those feelings of depression and suicidal thoughts. I’ve been here before so I know how to handle myself in these moments now.
I see what some say about education. It is only meant to teach you how to conform and take the easy life. It is not meant to be liberating, even though that is what it is supposed to do. No wonder why so many millionaires and billionaires either dropped out or decided not to go. What is needed to pass exams is not needed for making applications in the real world. I see that now and see why some people dropped out and went to work for themselves.
However, I still will get an education. Because it can only help, now that you know the truth and your eyes are open to the reality.
Ninety percent of what you learn for the bar exam, you may never actually use in your legal career. Law school grades also don’t necessarily reflect how well someone will perform as a practicing attorney.
My advice is to consider transferring to a less expensive law school, even if it has less prestige, if that makes it easier to finish your degree. Remember, once you pass the bar, nobody cares whether you scored. Passing is what matters.
The legal profession is also facing major changes because of AI and the growing ease of accessing legal information. What was once a complicated, time-consuming process is becoming increasingly streamlined. If you can not pass the bar, you still can do legal work. It’s so hard on young people these days.
Looking ahead, AI could fundamentally change how lawyers work, how legal services are delivered, and how attorneys are trained and licensed. It’s even possible that the traditional bar exam will eventually be replaced by a different system for demonstrating legal competence. Sorry to give you bad news.
Don’t take on unnecessary debt chasing prestige. Focus on finishing your degree, passing the bar, and positioning yourself for a profession that is changing rapidly.

It hit me on why I failed now, however. In the common law legal education system, they put a lot of weight on interaction with your professors and tutors. Sad to say, I was not taking much meetings with my tutors if at all. That is the unwritten rule of law school… Which is kind of disingenuous of them because these gradings are supposed to be blind and the tutors/markers are NOT supposed to know who the student is. I am seeing now that that is bullshit. lolol… They are liars and dishonourable for doing that. jmo… But, that is there way.
In the legal profession, connections within your field can be a huge advantage. The same is true in law school.
Don’t discuss politics with your professors, but do take the time to meet with them and participate in extracurricular activities they recommend or offer.
Remember, professors are human beings. Whether they know you, like you, or dislike you can influence how they perceive and evaluate you. Building professional relationships, showing genuine interest, and making a good impression can go a long way.
Your relationships can be just as important as your grades. Next semester is you make or break year in my opinion. Most law schools do not like to give out grades below C. They want to take you $ as long as they can.
Hey @brocktonblockbust … I have not been able to raise the money yet. And first assignments were to be submitted today. The only thing now is I have to wait until next September and try to find the money in the meantime. Sucks, but the wait is the wait…
Don’t worry you’ll find the money soon and you know the way it goes that the nearer your destination the more you slip slide and away so don’t lose hope and take it easy

I know when God is speaking to me. lolol… Oftentimes he causes us to fail or walk certain dark paths so we can see and be able to tell others how to get out of those same difficult spots in life. No good sailor was made because of good and easy seas. Good sailors are made through the storms and rough seas.
