heavy bag filling

i recently bought a heavy bag from ebay which weighs 65 lb 4 feet,
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7247929825&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

but i want to make it alittle heavier say 90 - 100 lb?

right now its filled with cloth rags if i replace it with sand it will settle
at the bottom and it goes rock hard,

some people suggested to put sand in ziplock bags or plastic bags and place them in the bag with the cloth rags, what do you think i should do?

That’s a 50% increase in weight. Will the stitching support that?

I know this sounds odd, but you could try filling some ballons with water (only fill them a quarter full so there is no danger of them bursting) and putting them in the bag.

Water is less dense than sand so is slightly lighter - plus when you hit it, it does ‘give’ a little (like punching a person)

Anyway - worked for my bag.

Good luck

My father once told me that once you’ve stuffed it in, you can pound away at any old bag.

I assumed he was talking about a punchbag? :dontknow:
