IS obviously he is a Boxer fan rather than a Boxing fan non of his comments where neutral he just rooted all the way for Raheem and I’m not a Freitas fan or no more than Raheem. The fight that he was watching and making comments was the fight I was Watching.
He is so in love with the boxer he roots for and like that you cannot Score or Comment a Fight in international tv.
The first thing he said was the mangled up story about how CBS used to have great fights. The story went no where and akwardly ended.
I thought the lead guy, can’t remember his name, not Max, not Lennox, but the other guy, was horrible. He was mumbling and stuttering and seemed very uncomfortable, it was almost painful to watch.
That crew sux, Lennox is sooo boring, Max is openly biased towards the fighter he likes, Fran Charles is so uncomfortable on camera u feel sorry for him.
Yeah the replacement for Ledermenn was a bit weird. I can only conclude he has been watching the current snooker championships a little much as he said that Freitas had taken the first opening frames ???
Kellerman was good, the other guy was good, but Lewis was whew. But I say let us give them some time so that their chemistry could develop.
don’t be mad because Kellerman was right. Lennox Lewis felt that too.
I believe it took 2:15 minutes into round 11 for Max to finally say,“I THINK Frietas is winning this round.”
and? After years of the Shobox announcers being for Freitas in moments he did nothing you have a problem with an announcer who isn’t on Freitas’ brazillian nuts? :lickish:
yeah, Kellerman was suckin Raheem off…
The guy had a few good complements about Raheem but then he started babblin on about his opinion of Acelino atlethisicm…gotta have jim, steward, and Merchant back
freitas had almost no tactic in that fight, and they kept making him out to be WAY faster then he is, dont say they didnt give him credit
I like Max. And to say he roots for one fighter might be right, but so does Lampley, Foreman, Merchant, and most of the rest. The only two I think don’t root for one fighter is Lederman{only because he judges}, and Steward.
Oh man I saw that fight, It was so boring. The announcers need time to get better. I thought Max was aight, Fran Charles and Lennox Lewis were so boring. Everytime something would happen they would keep the same tone as if it were still uneventful. I like Jim cause he like yells something happens and then you know something important has happened. That makes the fight more enjoyable. I know this doesn’t have any relevance. But how many people thought it was funny when it said that Acelino was breast fed till he was 5? That was so ridiculous. What was the point in having that there with the other one which was like, “Didn’t have a bed til he was 17.” psshhh
Hard fight to judge. Max never leaned towards a fighter at ESPN. I do think he is a decent commentator. I thought he did a good job on Around The Horn. If you surround him with someone more enthused than Lennox, and a guy he don’t have to carry{the other guy}, it will be more entertaining.
I also think the fight being ugly and hard to judge, slightly discouraged and agitated Max.
In reality, lewis reminded Max a couple of time that the fight was very close and with a tone of voice that sounded as if he realy wanted to ask “Max, are you freaking serious”?
Lewis is smart enough for the job, and he would judge the fights fair, but he needs to be a little more noticeable. I think Lewis did a good job, but he’s just bland. Max has just been out of the game for a minute, and his brother just died, so I’ll cut him some slack.
So right about that one.
Yeah Max is a knowledgeable boxing expert, But he is often too cocky and seems conceited. I wish Lewis would have punched him in the mouth.
Yeah, Kellerman’s score card was absurd. I used to like the guy, and kinda still do, but his scoring is horrid. He had Jirov beating Tony! :o ::**
To be honest, Kellerman is one of the worst commentators i have had the displeasure of listening to. His often inane statements make a mockery of my job.
I was tempted to assault him after the show.
