ok hobson has got his ideas all wrong right now if this is the case.
fans dont want to see gatti get a pummeling from rick at all.
Wont happen, cant happen it just cant i think Dennis is being a bit niave Ricky,Ray and Billy will know this fight will only harm his reputation and career and make a mockery of wanting to go to the states for the “Big Fights”. But out of Gatti and Urango, Gatti would put up more of a fight im afraid as Urango is very poor.
But Urango has a title, Gatti doesn’t. I personally cant see Gatti putting up much of a fight at all. Every decent shot that Baldi landed shook him so i dont think he would last five rounds with Rick.
I dont think Urango will go 5rds i see him against Rabah and he was bad i mean worse than Maussa and only won after a gift decision.
I didn’t see anything to suggest he’d fold that quick and it’s not as though Rick is a puncher, he’s rarely got rid of anyone that quick since he’s mixed in anything remotely world class.
Urango comes up short skillwise but looked big and strong at the weight.
Like Ive said before Several Times a fight with Gatti in AC on HBO would be better than a fight in Atlanta vs a BUM. An impressive win would go alot further in getting a big fight next year. A win vs Urkal or Urangal doesnt get ricky an closer to big fight in US or to exposing himself to american fans.
Doesn’t surprise me.
I would hate Rick to fight Gatti ![]()
im with u..
and not jus coz me n ur rabbit hav shown the entire world our nutz.. ![]()
lol lol…nutz lovin ![]()
sorry ppl sledge lowering the tone again ![]()
Gatti is an incredibly bad idea.
Period.
Ok 5rds maybe pushing it but Rick would dominate every round until he gets the stoppage at least Gatti would generate much more intrest and wonga.
I must add before i get slated i do not want Ricky to go anywhere near either fighter.
dont know if this was posted yet
There are several potential fights bubbling on Ricky Hatton’s hob. Of the three top candidates for the Hitman’s latest contest, Arturo “Thunder†Gatti has really got the web’s swarm of fight sites in full buzz.
But after a torturous career, can the human punch sponge really grimace through Hatton’s fists and plain common sense to a Bernard Hopkins’ style career closer? Or is this a risk too far?
Gatti, even at an advanced age of 34, generates excitement that transcends boxing and its die-hard fans. He draws fringe fans into boxing and consequently pay-per-view figures swell like his own visage in one of his trademark wars. Damn his shortcomings at elite level, any fight fan worthy of the name will be in mourning when the Canadian based in Atlantic City hangs up his gloves.
Hatton and Gatti have so many parallels. Both are adored by fans because they feature in gloriously good fights. Both have a tendency to take superfluous shots, whilst having proved that they are far removed from brawlers. And both have ventured up to welterweight and have found the guys opposite them uncomfortably strong.
So the potential match-up has that huge fight feel which makes your spine tingle and toes curl. The feeling why most fans watch boxing. As the heavyweight division presently rivals the early eighties’‘lost generation’ for mediocrity and uncertainty, this fight could be the rescue remedy that boxing needs to retain public interest.
But somewhere behind the longing to see this truly tremendous fight, the unpopular echo of reason is ringing in my ears. Arturo has not only been involved in some of the most brutal fights I’ve ever seen, but has also taken a fistful of outright beatings over the years. If one looks into a boxing crystal ball, you could conceivably envision the heroic Gatti taking a horrible hiding over the course of the fight.
His status as a legend is secure, he doesn’t need to risk his health for either the fight public’s affection or a purse of pension money. Sadly, boxing economics is a landscape sometimes devoid of principles, and the fight may be too tempting not to gorge upon. And whilst fans and writers would wallow in the fix of pure adrenaline that a last high-profile Gatti fight would bring, there is a growing faction which simply feels that Arturo has been hit enough.
I think Baldomir was just naturally stronger than Gatti, hence the reason why he was rocked by most punches by him.
Arturo is really a light-welter and because of that, would probably fair better against Hatton.
Still, I don’t want to see the fight now. Gatti deserves a long retirement after a great, crowd pleasing career.
You know what now that Baldi has stepped up and made the Baldi fight happen Ricky should get in the ring with Gatti. A win over gatti would increase his exposure in the US and wet american fans appetite for a HAtton -mayweather fight. Fans would demand it becasue ragardless of gatti being done they will tune in to watch him fight and ricky will be seen. Ricky beating Urungel does not get him closer to the big fight with PBF infact it probally makes it further away as PBF will say he hasnt fought anyone yet. He cant say that wih gatti becasue he fought him not to long ago himself. I know people on this forum dont see it my way but gatti is much better for rick than Urangel.
Theve been in America coming up for a year now and weve got Collazo and Urango/Gatti complete waste of time. surely a big fight could have been made in this time.
I think its coming “the big fight”…we just gotta be patient… ![]()

Not a chance.
Mayweather will destroy Baldi
Hatton can not beat up on Baldi’s leftovers.
Gatti is finished, he would send Ricky’s career backwards fight fans would lose respect for them both.
Great fight had he beat Baldi but not anymore certainly not if Mayweather fights Baldi.
Whereas Hatton goes back down to his natural weight and wins a 4th World Title on the bounce setting up bigger fights against Floyd and Castillo and retains some credit in the fight world
Beating Gatti up achieves nothing. I would hate it
