Alright lads, we’re just a few days out from Fundora vs. Thurman this Saturday (March 28). I’ve been going back and forth on this one. On paper, it’s a total freak-show matchup—you’ve got the 6’6" Fundora against a natural welterweight in Thurman who hasn’t been the “busiest” fighter over the last few years.
We all know Fundora’s glitch: he’s a giant who loves to fight like a flyweight on the inside. My question for the forum is: Does Thurman still have the footwork to navigate that reach and the “old man strength” to catch Sebastian while he’s winging those uppercuts?
Thurman’s ring IQ is high, but at 37, I worry the “Towering Inferno” just has too much engine and too much output for a guy who’s been fighting sporadically. Is Keith’s timing enough to overcome that massive physical disadvantage, or are we looking at a passing of the torch?
Curious to hear if anyone thinks Thurman’s experience is being undervalued here.
