How’d you (excluding Royal… I’ll say it for you “Kessler are rom Denmark, so am I so Kessler are king of world and can kill god”) think this would turn out?
I reckon Froch would pull off a big upset and beat Kessler on points.
He’s infuriating to watch at times and you end up shouting at the screen for him to keep his hands up but he can definitely punch, he’s got a solid chin and his physical conditioning is excellent.
He’d beat Kessler.
To be honest I think Kessler beats him…Froch is still too green for me.
Kessler can be a top fighter on a world level (DESPITE being champ…whatever that means) Froch needs more time…
I think Kessler beats Froch pretty handily to be honest, I’d be surprised if Froch beat any top SM at the moment.
Kessler has a huge height and reach advantage doesn’t he?

Froch is 6’1" too.
They are both big lads - Froch has power and great whiskers.
I think Froch could pull off an upset.. from what I have seen of Kessler… he’s pretty 1 dimensional… a boxer rather than a puncher but still… barely 2 dimensional… 
All Froch has to do is stop impersonating RJJ and its not even a case of ‘improving his defence’ fucker just never uses it…
The funny thing is I’ve always absolutely hated Carl Froch but watching him knock Brian Magee spark out after having soaked up about 4 rounds of being smacked in the face nonstop by Maggee I started feeling these strange feelings of affection for him.
An arrogant bloke, for sure, but his style is exciting and I will definitely be following his career more from now on.
i think it’s close…Froch needs 2-3 more fights and then he’ll be ready…

Yeah I must say after having hated his guts for the past two years his last two fights have won me over. I like a guy a who just refuses to keep his hands up despite being caught flush every round. He clearly doesn’t mind being hit. 
But he can punch and more importantly take one, (actually about 200 a fight flush if his last two fights are anything to go by).
He has a contemptous arrogance towards his opponents that I’m starting to admire. I mean lots of fighters talk as if they are better than anyone but judging by the way Froch fights, he definitely thinks so. I mean not even bothering with defense and just relying on his reflexes and power to win does make for exciting fights. I can’t see him beating Calzaghe in a million years, I think he’d box his head off, but I reckon he has a chance against anybody else.
I certainly hope he gets to fight Kessler sometime soon.
Froch has improved but its only ever enough to edge his current level of opposition. If he continues to improve he can do more but he still won’t beat Kessler, Lacy or Calzaghe. They will murder him. There are even prospects out there like Bute who are much better in terms of talent and skill
I agree that Froch has some improving to do in aspects of his boxing. I quite enjoy watching him as he is an exciting fighter at times and I also like the over the top bravado talking he does. Theres another new up and comer Anthony Small who is even cockier than him that looks good (think he is the same weight divison but not sure???). Worth keeping an eye on him too but early days in his case. Anyway I think Froch has the potential but does frustrate at times appearing not to really show up, but does always do enough to win his fights. Not sure who would win the Kessler fight but Froch certainly has a chance in the near future if he can hit top form. Looking interesting for the future though certainly.

good post, I totally agree.. I also think Bute is a very hot prospect who is better than Froch… The guy is still asking to get KOed the way he fights.. Whoever said he needs to stop impersonating RJJ is correct, because he doesn’t have any of the tools that Roy did, at all.. He’s mostly just that much slower, and we saw with Roy what can happen with that style when your speed and reflexes aren’t quite there.
Froch won’t beat Kessler. Kessler outboxed and outpunched Mundine who has quicker hands and feet and better defense. Kessler isn’t chinny like Brian Mcgee. Froch was target practice for Dale Westeran for 4-5 rounds of their fight. He won’t be able be so bad defensively against a boxer puncher like Kessler.
Froch looks to have decent power and chin but he hasn’t got the athletic ability to be successful with the style he uses when he steps up.
I don’t like Froch, he’s a twat, but I find him amusing and like to watch him fight. I don’t know much about Kessler except a lot of people on this board who I respect their opinion seem to rate him highly.
IMO Froch is not world class, he was being soundly outboxed by Brian Magee who’s a european level fighter at best, and only got past him because Magee’s chinny and a light puncher.
Froch does have some qualities, he has decent power and is always in good shape, and has some guts as well, but if Kessler is as good as some people claim he is, Froch doesn’t stand a chance
