For all the hating on Taylor...

You at least have to give the guy props for fighting THE BEST out there.

We’ve seen guys take the easy way to titles all the time, Jermain didn’t want any of that, yeah his Olympic performance did a lot to move his pro career along but when the challenges started coming he stepped up BIG TIME!

VS Hopkins many said he was too young and the old veteran would “beat him EASILY”. For being YOUNG and inexperienced vs top competition he did great and has kept it up.

Give some props to a TRUE champion.

I agree Lyle.

Far too much bitching going on about Taylor being this and being that. One thing is for sure, he is 2-0-1 against the very best on offer and the undisputed middleweight champion to boot, god help them when he learns to fight

I agree too

How anyone can knock a guy with form like that is ridiculous. Oh yeah I know he keeps winning lucky, dodgy decisions ::**

Generally after every big fight the hating seems to come from the same old faces that seem more concerned with disagreeing with TV commentators than the actual fight.

Damn I find myself agreeing with you for a change.

A reluctant :coolclick: to you

true but so did marciano and he gets hated on constantly

I agree! The guy works hard and takes the best challenge out there its good to have such a game champ

This was my last post on the topic of the Winky - Taylor before the fight. Basically says the same thing.

Yes but you can’t make the fighters out there be younger or tougher or whatever, if the BEST AVAILABLE opponents are crap it’s their fault and not anyone else’s!

Taylor is a rare thing in boxing today, he’s a champion willing and driven to fight THE BEST and the best around Middleweight are pretty damn good.

It isn’t out of the realm of possibility that Taylor could call out Joe Calzaghe next…I would think that it would be a bad move but I wouldn’t doubt he would do it if fights with Abraham, Sturm, Miranda, and Pavlik fall through

Thats right ! :coolclick:

Like you said, you have to give the guy his props for stepping in the ring with Hopkins twice and Winky. Unlike the champions in some of the other divisions he is taking the hard fights. Once the fight goes to the judges it is out of his hands. He at least made all three fights close. He very well could have made a bad showing, outclassed and all of that, but he put up the best fight he could. Props to Taylor for that.

CC Lyle.

I give him props but only to a certain extent see my thread yesterday if you will

Granted I think taylor is a great fighter and he has guts… He has taken on the 2 best fighters hands down in the mwd. I think he is still a question mark due to his constant controvercial victories. Obviously it is due to the skill level of his oposition but he has yet, as champ, to galvinize himself and cement his name @ the top of the sport like hopkins, trinidad, and ODLH have done in the past… I think he had alot to prove before the fight and he has answered no questions after watching it. He is a great fighter and hangs with the greats but he still needs to SHOW ME… I wouldnt call what he did to hopkins and wright “Beating” them. I call it “competing” with them.

Lyle, I don’t think people are ‘hating’ on taylor… just observing what they see… Taylor has beed gifted 3 decisions (1 undisputable… in my opinion, 2 of which could of gone either way)

I said to my brother before the fight, you have to give him props for saying “fuck you” to the alaphabety bodies and fighting the best boxers out there.

yup and yup cc :rocks:
