Fights we must see in 2006
anyone got any ;D
Brock-Peter
Wlad (soon to be IBF champ)-Brewster/Lyahkovich (WBO Champ)
Cotto-Hatton
Sturm-Abraham
Lacy-Beyer
Vargas-Mayorga
Some of those you listed, where in part 1 and 2 which I posted. Hatton-Cotto won’t happen this year, that’s for sure. I don’t think Vargas wants any of Mayorga!!!
so many posts on this site mention mayweather and hatton. it would be a crime if these guys never meet. thats the fight me and my mates all wanna see.
Ivan Drago v Clubber Lang, been waiting for this one for over ten years, someone get onto the Duke to get this sorted and quick!!
with tommy the machine gunn (aka morrison) againsta resurected appolo creed on the undercard
Corrales Castillo 3 and 4, maybe 5 and 6 :D:D:D ![]()
Hatton Gatti - this would be great while floyd busys himself with ODLH
Samuel Peter - David Tua
Big bro Marquez - Morales
David Haye - Carl Thompson II
Hatton Witter
Calzaghe Beyer
haye’s record is looking really good apart from that karl the cat thompson stoppage. and yet he doesnt seem to want to avenge it. he could do it quite easily if he paced himself more and there isnt really much for him to gain by beating the old school veteran, but if it was me i would want to correct that loss.
I dont see the fight soming off. Haye wants to avenge the loss as any good fighter would, but theres absolutely nothing in it for Carl Thompson.
It wouldnt be a big money fight for him, its not for any sort of real title, so the cat is much better served by not taking a rematch and when his career is over, if anything comes of Haye, he’ll always be able to say David Haye couldnt beat Carl Thompson.
The Cat would take this fight with a blink of an eyelid??
The Cat has no other options, he was beaton by some fat French dude last time out(unofficialy), where else has he got to, the guy is more or less washed up. If anything theres is nothing in it for Haye, since they foguht he has improved and the cat has got worst, i dont think Haye wants to go there he has moved to far ahead to be taking the Cat who has fought only once since the win against Haye and the Cat was awful.
In all truthitude…the main fights that I wanted to see were Mayweather vs Hatton, Taylor vs Sturm, Kessler vs Beyer/Calzaghe, Wlad vs Toney, & Cotto vs Hatton.
There are others…but those 6 are the main ones I wanted.
Why should Wlad bother with Toney, James couldn’t beat Hasim Rahman!!! And it ain’t like Hasim is a boxing genius either.
Brock-Rahman
Brewster-Rahman
Mesi-Rahman (they split fights in the amateurs)
those would be decent
Wlad-Peter II
Wlad-Valuev
Wlad-S. Ibrigamov
S. Ibrigamov-Mesi
Why on earth would he take this fight?? for the reason youve listed no less. The Cat can clearly see Haye would beat him now and thats why I’m saying as theres no major money or title involved, its pointless for him.
Haye on the other hand has the chance to avenge his only loss. No matter how much you say, or even people agree with you that you could now beat someone who beat you before, it never has as much effect as avenging the loss. Just ask Lennox Lewis ;D
I still have SERIOUS doubts about Haye…I don’t know if he’ll be a cruiser champ not to mention heavyweight…all of these people hyped him up and he hasn’t impressed me thus far.
Maybe compared to Audley he has potential but damn dude, harrison sucks

Firstly the Cat would get paid alot more money to fight a top of the bill televised European Title fight against David Haye then he would against some part time bin man in front of a man and his dog on some undercard at a leisure centre.
My point is Carl would get probably 50 times more money against Haye than any other fighter, what has he to loose?? He is what 41/42?? He is not going to be fighting any big fights agin in his career, so it makes sense for him to fight David Haye. But Haye has outgrown the class of the Cat.
Hay looks shakey to me, my first impression was he could be the real deal but he didnt look overly impressive on the backfoot last week. I don’t think he reacts well when he gets hit, still a little early to say for sure. But same as you Lyle not sold at the moment.

Because I’d love to see Wlad smoke Toney…always have wanted to…always will.
Brock-Rahman
Brewster-Rahman
Mesi-Rahman (they split fights in the amateurs)
Brock vs Brewster would be the only fight I’d even remotely even care about seeing.
Curiously…for Hasim not to be a boxing genius…you sure do want to see him an awful lot. ![]()
Mesi vs anyone is a bone head idea for boxing.
those would be decent
Wlad-Peter II
Wlad-Valuev
Wlad-S. Ibrigamov
Wlad Peter II or Wlad Valuev would decent.
S. Ibrigamov-Mesi
Again…anything with Mesi is a smoker of a turd for boxing…
“The Cat” is nearer 52/53
Doesn’t Sergio write for this site anymore? Glad to see how impressed he was with Calzaghe, but as he says, you’d have to be a right pratt not to have been impressed.
Fights Id like to see
Hatton - Castillo/Cotto
Barrera - Pac
Calzaghe - Froch
Haye - Maccrinelli
Harrison - Arthur
Khan - Mitchell
Valuev - Toney (for the comedy value)
I have 100s of fights for 2006, but here is a few of them ![]()
Brewster - Sam Peter
Wlad - Peter (II)
Toney - Sultan Ibragimov
Mads Larsen (come-back) - against a top 15 SMW
Kessler - Lacy (in US)
Calvin Brock - Denis Boytsov
Calzaghe - Tarver
Gotta agree with you skel. Even through seeing a lot of Haye’s amateur career and training at the same gym as him, I’m still not sold on him being champ. He has AMAZING potential, can punch stupidly hard, I just believe he’s got to get his conditioning sorted. His Stamina has always been a question and the rounds he took off last week showed he isnt quite there, with that last bit he could do well.
Who I’m more sold on, and I’ve got to say I’m biased here because he’s a friend and I trained at the same gym with him also is Anthony Small (he was on the televised part of the undercard of Haye last week). Ive loved his style since the first Amateur fight I saw of his and the guy’s charisma just makes any event he’s involved in fun to watch. I’ll be excited to see more of his fights this year, he’s 10-0 and word has it he may get a shot at the British title by the end of this year/early 2007. Anyone else catch him on the undercard, any thoughts?
…Skel I understand Carl was perhaps lucky the first time but the thing is usually this is a sign of things to come, so put Haye in with a guy with a chin and some stamina and he’ll have a shot
