English Soccer Question

Why isn’t there a Great Britian/United Kingdom national team? Is there a Welsh or Scottish national team?

A Great Britain team would be pretty much the English team.
But yes, Scotland and Wales have teams… bad teams, but teams nonetheless.

Bollocks

a uk team would simply be england with ryan giggs

I was nice about your car hitmanhatton - be nice about Welsh football.

(I know we are shit, but it’s good to be proud about it!)

Footy is a poof’s game anyway, big sissies rolling around all the time pulling faces - rugby is a proper sport.

Yeah - just like a Great Britain rugby union team would be Wales with a few Scots thrown in.

Our sheep are looser than yours.

england won the world cup not wales or scotland ::**

When?Don’t think that was mentioned at all by the media! ??? ::**

That was 40 years ago (or 3 for rugby)

Second world war was a long time ago and we never hear the end of it, Jesus what if the Normans were still ranting on about 1066?

What the fuck is soccer?

Thanks for biting! ;D

No, but seriously.
England seem to have the football side of things wrapped up in the UK. It’s arguable about which rugby team is better at the moment, but I might probably favour Wales slightly. Scotland have… erm… Andy Murray… I think… ???

Reminds me of the Eddie Izzard joke, about Great Britain keeping the Kaiman Islands for ‘Strategic Sheep Purposes’ ;D

Does it work the same way in olympic sports? Doesn’t Great Britian compete as a whole or do the separate parts compete independatley. I never thought about it till today. It just struck me as strange that Great Britian/United Kingdom (what is the preferred name) doesn’t compete as a whole.

That’s because we hate each other - and the reason we are good at wars and stuff is we spend so much time fighting each other, we are quite practiced at it.
