I watched the fight not cheering for anyone but i thought Winky came across as arrogant.
He held his hands up after each round and thought he had done enough in the last round when he had clearly not.
Cmon he was the challenger and everyone knows when a fight is close you got put in a last good round which he didnt.
Bring on the winky lovers but a draw was fair and I was a nuetral
It was a very close fight, I think a draw was fair.
I don’t know if Winky is really arrogant but I do like Jermain Taylor’s attitude. He is one of the more humble and respectful fighters in the game. He’s gotten a lot of stick this year but he’s proved he’ll face anybody.
How many other fighters in other weight divisions can say that their first two defenses were against the top two fighters in the division?
It wouldn’t suprise me at all if he offers Wright an immediate rematch and then jumps straight into a defense against Abraham or Sturm.
He’ll pretty much fight anyone which is good for the game.
Hopefully Winky will come round to the idea of a rematch because this weekend’s clash was a belter.
I am a Wright fan and yeh he did but alot of boxers are.
Winky fights like that every fight he just pressed the action more.
I suppose in boxing it benefits some fighters by having that air of confidence about them which can come across as arrogant. I like what Bilbo was saying about Taylor as I find him quite a humble fighter and he does come across as a good guy. Think both the fighters were both a fine example in the build up to the fight giving each other a lot of respect. I suppose in the heat of the moment you can understand the way in which winky reacted after the fight as it’s a fiercly competitive sport and who doesn’t like winning!
It’s good having all these kinds of different personalities in the sport as I think it’s great when the fighters show a lot of respect but equally love it when there is the fighters that hate each other for a bit of needle. It’s just another interesting factor in Boxing I suppose.
