I like Dave Allen but he is going to get stopped by Filip. Hrgovic has carefully selected his fights to get to the high position he has. No way is he a world class fighter.
Dave Allen is crazy for taking this fight. He lost comprehensively against Makhmudov and now is facing an even more harder opponent.
This is beyond Allen level yet he is determined to take these difficult challenges when he should face domestic opponents that would make better contests.
Dave is an excellent boxing commentator and very funny.
I hope the best for him but fear this will not end well.
Dave Allen has a touch of enigma about him.
Other boxers love him, hailing his ability in the gym and guile in sparring. He is commonly perceived, and perhaps feels himself to be above British, European or Commonwealth level but seems to limit himself in his own personal belief that he is not truely world class.
Its impossible deny his courage and I think he is trying to be noble in a boxing context, fighting only real fights; I just really hope it doesnt come at the expense of his health.

Allen came in relatively light, apparently had a bet with his coach he would come in under 18 stone. Size difference is worryingly noticeable.
I am watching a lot of Dave Allen interviews and he is extremely knowledgeable and very likeable.
Maybe the strategy of taking these fights that he can’t win makes him even bigger - a work of genius.

Dave Allen is in good shape and taking this very seriously. It’s in his hometown and he has some of his fighters on the undercard.
Hrgovic looks very angry and probably feels insulted that this fat kid from Doncaster thinks he can share the ring with him.

I was really high on Hrgovic when he turned over. He had done so much as an amateur - and was actually feared amongst the WSB (with something like 30 bouts there), I thought he was going to go on a rampage. That hasn’t happened.
But I really hope he doesnt seize this opportunity with Allen to fulfil who he was supposed to be.
Will be cheering for Allen - he deserves his Cinderella evening.
