However you saying leaving creation vs evolution aside as if they are not connected but they are.
Evolution is a scientific attempt to explain the origins of our universe according to entirely natural random processes. Any explanation of origins in our universe must automatically exlude the possibility of divine intervention.
However if you believe in God, you no longer are limited to trying to explain the impossible through random chance alone.
Evolutionary theory thus becomes redundant. The universe didn’t need to wait 10 billion years before the big bang explosion had finally settled and all the debris had formed into planets handily with their own gravitational systems.
The earth didn’t need to be hit by a mysterious disappearing planet around 4 billion years ago which knocked a huge chunk of it out into space to become our moon, another planet didn’t need to hit Venus to start spinning it the other way all these things can now be explained as how God made things to be.
Apes didn’t have to hang around in trees for a million years before they became intelligent enough to climb down and start walking upright.
So my own belief is that if you belief in God you automatically should no longer believe in evolution.
Imagine saying well yeah I know Michaelangelo existed but I don’t think he sculpted David to look that way, I think what he actually did was dropped a huge marble slab out of a high window, then tying a rope around one end he dragged it through the cobbled streets of Venice for 15 years until it started to take a man like apperance.
Then he proceded to throw rocks at it and leave it out in the rain for another 4 years until the features started to become recognisable.
Finally when it looked like David he polished it off and gave it a rub down, stood back and thought to himself, ‘Good Job’
well how bout this. there have been 4 sightings by 4 people in my mom’s house. all saw the same thing but never discussed it until years later. I have never seen it but I’ve heard thngs so “real” that the one time I was too scared to move, and the second time I actually thought it was my mom walking in the room above me. But she wasn’t home. And this was when I was about 26 so it wasn’t my imagination. :cwm25:
another time, I shit you not, I bought my dad a remote controlled car for christmas. well, on Christmas night the thing actually started driving by itself. I swear it. People thought it was me fooling around but I actually held the controller up and said “look, it aint me.” Too weird.
so if there are ghosts, there’s another dimension, and possibly a heaven and God. No? Possible?
I truly want to believe in a superior being and an afterlife, but what little intelligence I have gets in the way of that - and what kind of creator would just leave you in the dark? One that doesn’t know what the fack he/she is doin :-X
I believe there is a Creator. I also believe that the evidence is overwhelming. I believe we have to be brainwashed into NOT believing in God. Every civilization throughout the ages believes in some form of a higher power, and they all have some form of an afterlife. It is only in recent times that people have become “too smart” to believe in God. Supposedly science has evidence, unfortunately the evidence is actually theory which isn’t science, it’s philosophy. The “scientific” explanations for the orgin of life don’t fit the definition for science, they DO fit the definition for religion though.
I don’t have a problem with people that don’t believe in God. I just have a problem with people that won’t accept that they are operating on faith not fact, just as much as any Bible believer. The atheists feel they have more evidence for there religion, and that is not the case. We are all in the faith boat, there is nothing but BELIEF for both sides of the argument.
Have you really done any research to find out how “in the dark” you are, or is this purely your own opinion?
Lets say for a moment that the little intelligence you have encompassed half of everything there was to know in the entire universe. Obviously this is ridiculous that you have that much knowledge, but lets just assume that for this example.
Is it possible that God could exist in the half that you don’t know?
Is it possible that you are a creature that is only able to perceive 3 dimensions, but that more than 3 dimensions exist?
Are there colors you can’t see?
Are there sounds that the human ear can’t hear?
My point is that you are very limited in your abilities and making judgements based upon your very limited observations is niave. Most people that claim to be intelligent have no problem believing things they have never verified. They believe that there are other planets in our solar system, they believe that pluto exists, but they have never seen it themselves, they simply read it in a school book or were told by a teacher and they accepted it wholeheartedly never requiring the teacher to provide evidence to them, they simply took there word for it. It’s humorous how much of your “intelligence” was acquired this way, but in the case of God, you would require mountains of evidence and a personal visit. When is your trip to pluto scheduled? When were you personally visited by Abe Lincoln, or any other historical figure you “believe” existed. Don’t mistake “intelligence” for a conditioned response. You have been PROGRAMED not to believe in a creator, and you want to label it “intelligence”. You call it what you want, but here’s what the Creator calls it: Foolish
“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.”
Why is every other planet in our solar system not crawling with life like this one. We have life in nearly every square inch of this one, and we can find no evidence of it on others. Even the basic requirements are missing. Why is that? Life is a miracle, and we haven’t learned how to create it nor preserve it. We can only copy what we already have.
