This turned out to be a entertaining contest. Sheild left hook is dangerous and her composure to take out her opponent in the 6th round.

Actually sat thru this card and honestly fans should be awarded a prize of some sort for making it to midnight . Felt very patchwork after a couple fights fell out and even prior to bell it was clear Shields was in for more of a coronation than an actual competitive title fight. But she did what she had to. And hell may be freezing over but…she fought smart and sharp. Mostly patient. You can really see the time with John David Jackson on display. Fair play all around.

What I saw of the undercard was a little nuts. Isley looked ordinary and Hicks frustratingly sloppy in large gaps. Ref was odd and overly involved. Calling a time out as the round started to give a casual talk to the fighters, rather than between rounds. Didn’t even realize Veryre v Ferreira was a unification, of sorts, until it was over and a crazy ending it was . Male or female boxing, I’m really trying to recall the last unification that ended in a DQ for holding.

Nifty boxer, who has a huge chink in her amour. It would take an inside fighter to expose, yes Expose her weakness.

Saw her in one of those confident course shows a few years back.

She was the only one who not only couldn’t finish it, she broke down & cried.
It was sad to see a world champion boxer quit against aerobic & stay at home moms. Maybe spend time chopping wood.
