I think David Benavidez is at the stage where he can ask for big money outside of Canelo. We’re talking about the $50 million purse bracket and above.
Make that fight with Opetai, both of them can do well with that.

Jessie Benavedez should be the next big star from USA. He is articulate, knowledgeable about boxing and wants to make historic fights leaving a lasting legacy in the sport.
Jessie wants Bivol, Beterbiev and Canelo. I guess Jai Opetia would be the hardest challenge of them all.
I can see Benavedez eventually move up to heavyweight and challenge Moses Itauma for the heavyweight crown.

There WAS a Jesse Benavidez once in boxing. But that was a while ago.
I thought maybe David had a brother.

I neglected to mention that David does have a brother in boxing, and that would be José Benavidez Jr., who once fought Crawford and got TKO’ed with a few seconds left in the fight.
That was my mistake as I had just watched highlights of his brother facing Crawford. He was on my mind.
