Now that England are out of Euro 2008, i’m planning my holiday for next June/July. I’m thinking of perhaps 4 nights in Dubai, a week in Phuket then 3 nights in Bangkok on the way home.
Has anyone been to any of these places and if so would you recommend them? What is there to see/do that you would highly recommend.
Also, i’m not dead set on these 3 places, if anyone can suggest anywhere better in this area like Koh Samui i’m open to ideas.

Only a nutter would go dubai in June / July !
They pull in the table and chairs from the balconies from May onwards as it’s so blisteringly hot 
April is perhaps the best time.. or late September ?
I was their in Feb and went to the Mina A Salam and it was mega.
Better than the 7* Burl al Arab definitely.

Was in Koh Aa Mui last september,
Liked it a lot, me and the misses in 5* luxury in the most gorgeous resort ever. Spent a fucking fortune but it was so worth it. never really left the resort much as we had been in Japan then Bangkok so had already done our partying, came out a new man ready again for 11 months of stress and “Salmon Days” 
If you are looking to party all night, not a great deal going on, if you want to sit at the edge of the pool with a cold beer and have somebody look after your every want and desire can’t think of anywhere i’d rather go.
P.S. Bangkok is a mad place, keep your hand on your money
I’ve been to Dubai a few times Dave, I’m lucky enough to have a few mates living there. Its a quality Holiday, the service and the way you’re treated is amazing. But Anders is right, June, July August are a no no!! 48 degrees plus around then mate!! ;D

Agree Dubai is roasting in June/July, it’s like being in an oven, the Burj is overhyped/overrated and quite tacky, hate it, Mina Salam is best hotel in Dubai, good choice Anders, stayed there myself and had the pleasure of Jade Goody at poolside with me :-\

I’ve been to Thailand - Bangkok on the way to Australia. It was wicked, hotel was superb and service was excellent - got a few mates who have been to other places, the beach resorts etc and they don’t have a bad word to say. Vietnam is supposed to be really good now, like Thailand before it got over run with tourists apparently.
Just got back from the USA - only saw 1 post promoting the fight!! That was in NY in Times Square it was huge but that was it,a couple on the bus stops. I spoke to some NY’ers and they didn’t even know who Mayweather was! Amazing.
Went in to a bar in Soho as the barman was obviously an ex fighter, a girl sitting next to me at the bar confirmed this and directed me to a picture on the wall of him getting walloped in the ribs by someone who turned out to be…Larry Holmes ;D The guys name was Bob Bozic and he fought Larry at the Gardens. I tried to engage him on it but he wasn’t having any of it - he was alright, gave me loads of free top ups and only charged me for 2 of 4 pints!! Really great guy, got the whole bar involved and talking to each other using his patter.
