Yeah but i mean experience takes too long and i just cant seem to deal with it mentally. Its just when i dont feel threatened i know i could kick someones arse but when it hits all of my confidence is gone and i get worried. I think its a mixture of not wanting to hurt them…too bad coz i understand if someone smacks their head on the concrete then its very bad.
Ok heres the scenario. The only reason why i ask is coz it happened today. Some dickhead was trying to show how tough he is (hes not) and he challenged me to a fight and i was about to hit him when another thought entered my mind and it made me not want to hit him. The adrenaline didnt fucking help.
Hey mate i know where you think its going but i dont need advice about fighting. The thing i have needed advice about and the thing that has been pissing me off is adrenaline.
Well thats the way i got him out of my face today except it was more like yelling. But the thing that amused me was that his sister was the one doing all the talking lol .
How do ya mean? But the funny thing was his sis actually slapped me for defending myself. The thing is, my mate was ment to fight him but this guy backed out and now it just looks like hes showing off in front of his sister.
Try not to think about it. I know that’s easier said than done, but just go ahead and punch him before those damned 2nd thoughts start messing with your mind. (You’re not the only one who has this problem, so don’t feel bad about it. )
Try not to think about it. It’s easier said than done, but if you go ahead and get the fight over with before those 2nd thoughts start eating you up, you’ll be much better off. (In a fight or in the ring).
School ground stuff is a wank off anyway, avoid them ,just laugh at them shake you head and walk.
But that problem is a real one, if your threatened outside by an unknown assailant.
Not wanting a confrontation in the first place ,plus adrenalin usually equates to a fear thought entering your head.
Either fear of what can happen to you or them.
The only way out of it is to know this, think about what happens if you go down and the fight doesnt finish there and your never the same again or worse still.
Your family are ripped off and live the rest of lives in misery because you chose not to go all out!
either running or fighting for your life.
Running is so much easier ,if the fool catches you, even on another day, its his bad luck then.
Aviodance can come easily. #1 If you smile big, the whole time they are threatening you, it dissengages their will to fight.because they are expecting you to be demoralized by the threat.
It helps to control your adrenalin too a smile helps your own mind to stay clear even in adversary!
#2 If you ask them how much money they have in their wallet?
they always frown and ask, “why?”
And your answer is 'I will match it dollar for dollar and we meet at such and such a gym or dojo .
End of fight right there because you have outsmarted them by bringing in another unseen and very serious option (that you are fully prepared to go ahead with) that they cant really think about clearly in the situation that they have caused.
Ive used that in Pub situations twice against massive men and had beers bought for me instead of having to damage them for life.
Another adrenalin control is, To know you are safe ,You must be in a relaxed even balanced front stance, have your groin covered by turning in your front toe and knee slightly and have your chin down a bit and hold it (like your thinking) between your thumb and forefinger and your other hand is resting on the inside of your elbow so you are covered high and low and you have a vertical fist ready to strike out or block if needed. realise that your open only high and to the outer, its an easy straight smack out , if they are dumb enough to open themselves up and go for that one.
no Snakey I explained why it got locked. Don’t throw your toys out the pram.
You asked a reasonable question and it started to get stupid. End of story. So being the nice person I am I kicked this one off.
DMD, you are wrong. You need to visualise a situation then when it happens your brain will react quickly. Did you know the people most likely to survive and escape train/plane wrecks (despite being lucky) are the ones who had thought about how they would escape if they crashed? That’s a fact.
You’ve heard of muscle memory? well the same thing happens in the brain. An action and thought lays down neural pathways. It’s how we learn.
