to me
it comes down to hatton and peter, and because of the fact that peter wont have to fight mayweather to conquer his division
i have to say peter
Peter has the mos room to develop.
Peter for sure
Do you guy’s mean Sam “I havent fought any GOOD opponent’s” Peter. For me it’s too soon to make a decision on him. He has power but so do many other Hvy’s.
Hatton I feel has proven himself that he can dance against the best. Now “prospect” I consider fighters with anywhere from 10 to about 25 bout’s or so 39-0 I would say is no longer prospect.
Cotto takes my vote in this one. He has fought great fights taking his style to other levels and improving as time goes on. Love that posture of his in the ring.
Vaulev has potential but I really can’t comment on him, only seen footage and clips of his fight’s.
Messi I would say would be runner up If he can get his shat! together and clear up his mess then train hard I can see a potential Champ.
I vote for Peter just because the HW division is so terrible and he has the most chance to make a change in it. Just my opinion.
I say cotto has all the tools to be one of the greats.
good joke.
he cant get much better. he has a lot of flaws.
he will have to move up soon and by then he will be fighting top fighters and they all have the style advantage over him.
Yeah but for peter to conquer the division he needs to be vitali and thats nilly an impossible task for any current heavyweight.
i disagree, at his best he can take any of the top welters. he can get better, by gaining more confidence and experience.

Name a boxer at his level that does NOT have flaws or for that matter name a boxer that does NOT have flaws?
Every boxer has flaws, it’s what they make of it, it’s what they do to try and correct it or even master something that can cancel out their flaw or make it difficult to take adavantage of their flaw.
Cotto like any other prospect has more to learn. He will gain more knowledge about himself as a boxer with tougher and tougher opponent’s. He can only get better.

he cant become much better because of his stance
he puts 80% of his weight on his front foot
all anyone would have to do to beat him is punch and turn and he would never get any shots off
his height and the way he fights arent going to help him moving up and not to mention his suspect chin
he will end up being a top-level guy who cant beat any other top level fighters.

to all posters if you cannot explain how a fighter can get better dont post.
you are assuming and thinking he must be able to get better thats it.
he can get a little better, which top welter could he beat? not mosley, judah, margarito, oscar, not forrest or spinks if they fight here either

i feel you,
he doesnt seem to keep his hands up enough to lean foreward,
and he doesnt “random shot” it up

maybee oscar is old enough to slip up,

but yea, he cant beat those other guys now or ever

Corely was able to outbox him? If you say so. It was like any other Cotto fight he takes his time, moves side to side, pick’s his shot’s, of course he gets hit the opponent will take advantage of this style. But that Corely outboxed Cotto one can argue that statement he probably did in a couple of round’s BUT ultimately what matters is that the number in your record next to the WINS: moves one up and NOT in the LOSES:.
