Wasted Talents

Reading Harrison’s “note” about how he’s gonna come back has really irritated me. Does he really take all the true boxing fans for idiots? The only list that he will be near the top of, would be that of wasted talents.
You couldn’t have planned it better. Olympic gold medalist, huge frame, quick, heavy handed, south-paw. And coming in at a time when the heavy weight divison has arguably been the weakest it has ever been. He had it made. But he spent more time talking than producing.
If it wasn’t for the Olympics, he’d find it hard to even make it as a journeyman fighter. He truely is an insult to all those fighters out there with minimal talent, but do the best they can.
I don’t mind that your scared of being hit (only a few crazies i.e. Mayorga enjoy it), but then boxing isn’t for you, and it is grating that to take so much money for beating up fighters that pose no danger. Isn’t that just being a bully?
Can anyone else think of any other fighters who were a bigger waste of talent?

i saw his last fight against guinn, what a load of rubbish. audley is a disgrace

Audley is a absolute pillock. On the topic of wasted talents, Tyson has to be a contender, waht he achieved was great but IMO he had the potential to be one of, if not the best heavyweight of all time.

Chris Eubank is the biggest waste of talent I’ve known. He had so much going for him.

ike ibeabuchi

:coolclick: excellent pick

Michael Nunn

What about Nassim Hamed. The boy was talented, but began to believe his own hype. If he had stayed focused, who knows what would have happened.
I would also shout Joe C. I know that he’s been a world champ, but now that we have seen what he really is capable of, he could have done so much more.
Shout-outs go to Riddick Bowe and Buster Douglas ;D

Naseem hamed. Yes Marco Antonio gave him a boxing lesson, but Marco is a great fighter. Naseem could of gotten back on track and still made some noise. Not to mention he was getting real popular on the sport, he was truely a ppv fighter that retired at his prime.

;D sanj beat me to it… I had a phone call

Fully agree on this. He could have been a legend, and yes Tyson, although he is one of the greats still in most peoples minds, he could have been better if he kept his personal life in check.

Danny Romero, always thought he could have done more

James Toney,

He’s only ever beaten himself, never truly been beat in over 75 fights. A sustanined effort throughout his entire career and he could have been one of the greatest of all time.

Please explain Eubank to me.

Pete Rademacher could have been something special had he been handled correctly.

Probably Nassim Hamed asking if you want to be his comeback opponent, date not yet confirmed ;D

Ummm…Roy disposed of him pretty easy.

John Mugabi didn’t live up to expectations
