question

one thing that ive never understood about boxers is why do they stay in the same weight for so long even though they have beaten everyone in that weight i mean for example mayweather jr has dominated the welterweight division for a long time now and he only has one belt

:welcomesign: to the forum fella

I’m not sure they do tbh mate - I mean Floyd has only fought twice a Welter so far

Fighting in and eventually dominating a division for a long period of time, shows excellent discipline and is a sign of potential greatness.

Many Great/superb fighters fought virtually/all their entire career in one division; Hagler, Monzon, Napoles, Wilde, Leonard (Benny) come immediately to mind.

Ummmmmmmmm…Mayweather hasn’t dominated the welterweight division for a long time.

He’s only just fought & beaten 2 welters. Super Feather is what division Floyd dominated for so long.
