What amazes me is that Winky didn’t ask for an imediate rematch? He must be planning on getting the Oscar fight because appart from him there are no bigger fights at 160 for Winky Wright, or he is smart enough to know that Taylor will only improve and he wouldn’t win the rematch anyways.

taylor is a nice guy…ive no hate for him as a person. he is humble and honest.

ive more of an irate feeling about a few of his recent decisions recently though, thats more whats been driving me a bit demented…

I still disagree… it was a draw … Winky did nothign to win impressively. If you add in the partial blocked punches of Taylor their connection count was pretty even, and WInky was hurt a little during that fight while Taylor was never in trouble… except by his balance. If you look at Winky by fight 26 he was nowhere near as skilled as Taylor is now.

I beg to differ. In the second fight, it was nearly identical to the first, although B-hop did not hurt Taylor as bad down the stretch, he did win more early rounds and thus deserved the victory IHO.

I totally disagree,I don’t think Winky or Taylor are similar in any way whatsoever in the ring.Taylor is likeable honest and a gentleman but had he not had the power advantage,he would not have got that draw.Winky landed more,and early on,it was difficult to give JT any of the rounds,most of his shots were being blocked,whereas Winky was landing flush early on,his timing was awesome. The nly thing I was dissappointed in Winky and JT stated this,was that if you are going to go for someone’s title,you have to fight the FULL 12 rounds.Winky didn’t fight the 11th,possibly giving the title away.

And no way is he their equal,against Hopkins,he looked amatuerish at times,particularly in the first fight and again,in the Winky fight,nice combos but hands too low,and he was the bigger guy but was backed up waaay to easily.He gets my respect for the fights he has taken and he is a great ambassador but on that night,I thought Winky won.
