It’s a dream come true for boxing fans when Main Events presents “Undefeated . . . But Not For Long†on the June 24th HBO “Boxing After Dark†program. Undefeated heavyweights Calvin Brock (28-0, 22 KOs) and Timur Ibragimov (20-0, 12 KOs) plus undefeated welterweight contenders Joel Julio (27-0, 24 KOs) and Carlos Quintana (22-0, 18 KOs) will clash like gladiators in the Roman Amphitheater at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. As they say, “Someone’s ‘0’ has to go!â€
Brock, one of the hottest contenders in the heavyweight division - who is the WBC #6, WBA #6, IBF #3, WBO #7 and FightNews #8 contender – has notable victories over Jameel McCline and Clifford Etienne. Ibragimov - originally from Uzbekistan - is the current WBC Fecarbox heavyweight titleholder and has an extensive amateur career but he has not fought the world-class competition of Brock. Both fighters are former Olympians, Brock in 2000 and Ibragimov in 1996.
And as if two undefeated heavyweights risking it all wasn’t enough, Main Events matchmaker Carl Moretti has undefeated welterweight contenders Joel Julio of Monteria, Columbia battling Carlos Quintana of Moca, Puerto Rico in a twelve-round WBA eliminator! Both are explosive knockout punchers as evidenced by their combined records of 49 wins and 44 knockouts with no losses! At 147 pounds, Julio is the WBA #5, WBC #5, WBO #5 and FightNews #9 contender while Quintana is the WBA #2, IBF #13 and the WBO #14 ranked challenger.

I like Quintana in this fight. Julio has power, but something is missing and he is flawed. I just cant pinpoint it. Quintana is a fundimentally sound fighter, who also had power. Probably as strong as Julio.
Brock’s really good IWO…but he’s coming up in a tuff division…even at it’s weakest state. The reason I say this is due to his lack of power…he’s got knockouts & he just pulled a really nice one against Lawrence on HBO…but I am a bit unsure also as to whether his chin will hold up to the big punchers. Brock has only been tested by 3 names…all of them can punch…but they also have fallen by the way side.
I’m curious to see what happens. Great guy with good skills…but he’s gonna have to dig deep IWO.
should be a good card, the only thing even though it should be a great fight, I’m not too happy about hearing that Quintana/Julio, I really like both fighters and I would love to see them fight each other, just not at this point of their careers, they both are fresh new good prospects, I’d love to see them fight when they both have perfected their game.
