[b]According to the Atlantic City Press, Should Arturo Gatti defeat WBC Welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir on July 22, Gatti then would likely take on Miguel Cotto on December 2nd at Boradwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

In the event of a Gatti defeat or Gatti being unavailable for that that December 2 date, Cotto’s promoter, Top Rank is reportedly very close to staging a fight with Cotto taking on WBA Welterweight champion Ricky Hatton on December 2nd in a bout that would also land at the Atlantic City Venue. An insider in Cotto`s camp stated: Forget Gatti a Hatton deal is 99% done. [/b]

Cotto-Gatti would be a treat but Cotto-Hatton would be an extravaganza

What about all the talk about Cotto-Castillo? Was that all just rumor? Was it previously true but then wiped once Castillo blew weight for Corrales III?

I just have a feeling that Gatti is done at this kind of level. I think Baldomir will beat him.

But should Gatti him, him against Cotto would be interesting. Especially considering Cotto’s dodgy chin. But even still. I don’t think Gatti is much of a puncher at 147Lbs - I think Cotto would carve him up.

Cotto-hatton? would be a great fight. I think hatton has the better chin, that just might edge it for him; but saying that cotto seems to punch a bit harder.. or will a cut play a big part? so many questions lets seem them get it on and answer 'um!

At 147,I se Cotto beating everyone including Hatton but not PBF. He could even beat Margarito,I’m not sure but anyway,I hope we see him fight Hatton@147!!!At 140,he will lose!! :-\

No way in hell Cotto loses to Gatti. And I would take Cotto in a late TKO over Hatton. I’m telling yall right now that once Cotto jumps to 147, he is one of the hardest hitters in that division with the added weight.

It’s all something to look forward to though especially the Cotto Hatton fight. Both fighters are probably in their prime at the moment. Both are tremendous fighters but have both recently had their slight weaknesses shown to us. Think this would be an absolute cracking fight and could really go either way. Fingers crossed it happens sometime soon.

At one point we had Kostya tszyu, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Zab Judah, Floyd Mayweather, Shamba Mitchell al lin the same weight devision.

The only fighters that met out of all of those at lightwelter was Tszyu, Hatton and Mitchell.

Do you think Cotto has the stamina to keep up with Hatton ?? I dont

I think he will and for what I said before, non of the top fighters want to face eachother at least Cotto is Willint to do it and for what I can see Hatton too. Look at my avatar
