“I think this third fight will be something special,” said Jose Luis Castillo today at the Top Rank Gym in Las Vegas. Castillo faces Diego Corrales in the third confrontation of their classic rivalry LIVE on SHOWTIME Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. "If Corrales doesn’t change his style and he fights the same way he did in the last two fights, this one will really be spectacular. I think people are really with me more than ever (so) this fight is very important to me. The key to my future is winning this fight and showing everyone what a good a boxer I am.
“I’ve had no problem managing my weight or with my training for this fight. I feel like I’m right on schedule. I’m scaling back on my running and my day to day workouts because I don’t have much weight to lose at this point. No matter who I speak to, they ask me about my weight. It gets bothersome.”
“I’m going to win on Saturday. I know I’m going to knock him out. I can feel it. I just know it. I’m out to knock him out, to destroy Corrales. Every one keeps talking about how strong Corrales is, and he is very strong…but not as strong as everyone says he is.”
Who do you guys think will win this? Ive a feeling Castillo may be right, but that doesnt mean I wont be hoping that Corrales can put up a good fight…I like both fighters, but I just think Corrales belief that he can just go in there and trade with Castillo may just be his downfall.
If he used his reach and utilised distance he would have a greater chance…Castillo may very well clock him again…
I think Castillo has improved more than Corrales, I see it playing out very similarly to what Castillo said.
While Corrales has reach, it has been proven ineffective of late.
Castillo takes some hard hits, but still KOs Corrales late
No, Diego isn’t completely outclassed here. Castillo is just the more solid fighter of the 2, and Diego is gonna have to be on his toes more than Calzaghe was for Lacy. He needs to treat every shot Castillos throws like it’s the plague, it’s the only way to make it out of the fight with a win or without being KO’d
I think it will come down to chins, and Castillo definately has the advantage. But Diego managed to weather the storm in the first fight, and he also has the power to win.

Apparently we are all realists regarding this fight. We all know that Castillo’s gonna win…but a vast majority of us want to see Corrales gut it out. Interesting.
Except for comming in overweight I feel that Castillo is the more honest of the two.. I really hated how Corrales kept on throwing out his mouth piece in the tenth round of the first fight, and he never maximizes his advantages…
Castillo by mid round KO… And I hope he does too, because he is the one who will make for better fights in the future, not Corrales. Corrales wouldn’t beat Hatton, Cotto, even Gatti or Baldomir… Castillo could win against all of them, he could even fight Floyd again if it all pans out that way..
