Americans World Cup?

 I know this post is way off the subject of boxing, but I just had to put my two sense somewhere. (I know somebody might tell me to put it up my ass).

I really hate it that I’m bombarded with stories and commercials about how I’m supposed to care about how the U.S. does in the World Cup. I wasn’t raised around soccer (football), I don’t know anything about it, and looks rather boring. Honestly, before all the video games came out I always confused the World Cup with that big sailing event.

If anybody ever tells that I’m supposed to care about cricket, they might get punched.

I am with you on that!!!That shit bores the hell out of me low scoring and a lot of running around like a bunch of confused squirells looking for the acorns they hid LOL!! …I think being american I grew up watching baseball football,basketball Boxing so those are our streamline sports…Other countries go apeshit over soccer cause its an important part of there culture…I guess it all depends on were you from..

I defenitely respect there zeal and enthusiasm over it though…They can pack the piss out of an arena

Typical of all you sad yanks. A game that everyone else in the world plays but that you are not very good at has to be a rubbish sport.

Thats why you all have your own sports, American Footbal and Baseball so that the other countries can’t beat you.

The Americans are like the spoilt kid at school. Someone is better at him at something so he kicks the ball onto the school roof so nobody can play. Then he goes and plays swingball on his own.

Do you know why soccer is a universal sport ??? Money. You don’t need any to play it. I love soccer, but it’s ridiculous what you are saying, really. It’s just a matter of where the most talented athletes go, again coming down to money.. If soccer was as popular in the states as Basketball, then they would probably be as good as they are at Basketball, because that’s where the best athletes would strive to be. How much do you think the guys playing on team USA in the world cup make compared to Kobe Bryant or Allen Iverson.. It’s just ignorant for you to suggest the US simply couldn’t contend in soccer and that’s why other sports are popular. You really should think it through somewhat.

Yeah but thats because all of our athletes go where the money is, which is in the great British sports, Snooker and Darts.

When was the last time a Yank, or any non Brit held aloft that prized trophy at the Crucible, or brought the house down at the Lakeside Club?
