I totally see your point in terms of Floyd actually ‘carrying’ the promotion for the Zab fight as Zab did diddly squat in terms of actually promoting it, but what i’m saying is that Zab has a fanbase, manly in the ‘Hip Hop’ market (Have you seen all the Smack DVDs and Hip Hop vids that Zab’s featured in, and all the rappers that have quoted his name in songs etc?).
Floyd also carried the promotion for the Gatti fight, but Gatti still had that big fanbase, who turn up to support him regardless of whether he does much to promote the fight or not.
Imagine if Hatton was to fight Floyd in his next fight, and Hatton decided to shy away from promoting the fight, we’d all still turn up or tune in right? Of course we would, because we represent his fanbase…
My point is that Gatti and Zab have core fanbases, whilst Baldomir does not. So Flyd has to bring EVERYTHING to the table in this fight in terms of those PPV numbers…
