Is anyone else distinctly underwhelmed by Quintana’s record? I’m not saying he’s not a good fighter but i just wonder if his win over Julio is leading to him being overhyped a bit. Julio hurt him to the body so i can’t imagine Cotto won’t have the same success.

Although yet to see it, sounds like a great result for Cotto, 5th rd stoppage in his first furror at welterweight. Margarito next, Cintron to follow, Cotto to clean up the welter division

The body shot he landed that put quintana down sound like a bag of cement being hit with a baseball bat (best desciption i could come up with ;D )

When reading this quote i knew instantly the sound ya mean 8)

So then… Quintana was just an over hyped wannabe ? Perfect matchmaking to show off Cotto’s talents ( as Gomez points out 8) ),will he seriously become a challenger for the WW title again ?

With a 5th rd TKO Cotto clearly has’nt lost any of his power moving up in weight, funnily enough he may have gained the power taking himself up to his natural weight. He did look drained for his bouts at LWW, and the weigh-in pics certainly showed him in a healthier frame this time around.

A fight with KT for Cotto would be tough, but maybe just a step to far for KT, especially as he’s now more used to strutting his stuff on a dancefloor rather than in a ring ;D I would like to see how he fairs ( Cotto ) with Collazo, a slick, clever southpaw. Would Cotto blast Collazo out with such ease ???

I see Collazo being the same result. To me Collazo and Quintana are practically the same fighter expect that Quintana is a taller, more reach, and has more power than Collazo. Not to mention that Quintana and Collazo also have a common opponent, whom Collazo lost to by 3rd TKO, and Quintana TKO’s him in the 3rd round.

Cotto next step is to just take care of Urkal in March in PR like planned. And then look to start to unify the belts against either Cintron and Margarito for his scheduled fight in MSG in June. Looking at Margarito last night he looks very vulnerable and I would even pick Cintron now over him. Thats my take, Cotto shoulld get the other champions in the ring.
